David Copeland
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Married to Michelle and father to now three-year-old Conner. I work for Sprint PCS in OKC as a Leadership Consultant and train management level employees. My cancer experience has helped me to transfer my passion of life to those I have the opportunity to train.

Recently, I have begun to speak out publicly about my cancer experience to groups in the community. My hope is that by doing so I can help others make the most of their own lives.

In my off time, I enjoy both road and mountain bike riding. Most of all, I enjoy spending time playing in the backyard with my son and just enjoying life?s many blessings.

Cancer Overview:

General Cancer Type: Melanoma

Specific Cancer Type:

Treatment Summary:
I was first DX in 1993 with Melanoma when a mole was removed from the center of my back. They did surgery around that area with no further treatments. The cancer was detected again in May of 98 when I felt a lump under my right arm. There were two tumors in the lymph nodes under my arm and one on my neck. Treatments were four rounds of Chemo-immune therapy, surgery to remove tumors and nodes (38 of 42 tested positive), radiation.
My prognosis at first was quite poor. That was over three years ago and today I am cancer free!
