Treatment Summary:
At the age of 24yrs., I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in May of 2001. Underwent a series of tests and exams. August of 2001, had thyroidectomy. October of 2001, had body scan and radiodine treatment to kill any remaining cancer cells in my body. My cancer is currently in remission. Trained hard and had therapy in August of 2002...competed in 11 running/skiing/biathlon races in 2002 (with half of the races placing in "top 10" or "top 10%" of finishers.) In 2003, attempting to complete second Birkie Ski Marathon (51K) in Feb. This June in Anchorage--Alaska, I will run my first marathon (42K). My support group for this event is Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Team-in-Training." I am in need of any financial, emotional, and verbal support (comments and stories--welcomed!). I am also searching for a "honoree" for me to train and run this race for. Good luck all---"strength & honor!!"
