I am a 37 year old PhD student at the University of Oklahoma. While my degree is in education, I work at the Center for Applied Social Research currently supervising a project on Breast, Colon and Prostate cancer. We are looking at the relationship between cancer and the environment in hopes of aiding medical researchers. My hobbies are cycling road and mountain),antiques, my animals and cooking edible meals for my fiance.

Treatment Summary:
Originally diagnosed with breast cancer-March 25, 1998.
Treatments-Adriamycin/Cytoxin; Taxol; Radiation;Tamoxifen
1st Recurrence-Aug. 29, 2003-Mets. to the lungs, liver and bones.
Treatment-Herceptin, Taxol, Carboplatin, Aridea
2nd Recurrence-May 2004-Mets. to the brain (cerebellum).
Treatment-Cyberknife-3 days-no side effects other than a minor headache and extreme fatigue for 3-4 months.
3rd Recurrence-September 2005-Mets to the thorasic vert.
Treatment-Taxotere, Herceptin, Aridea
4th Recurrence-May 2006-Mets to the brain again (cerebellum)
Treatment-Cyberknife-5 days-side effects included migraines, loss of sleep, loss of balance, brain swelling, fatigue, nausea.
Currently I am on daily meds of Femara and an infusion of Herceptin every 3 weeks.I have tests every 3 months to check for any new tumor growth from the neck down. I have a brain MRI every 2 months to monitor any possible new tumor activity in the cerebellum.
