Although always athletic I didn't realize there was such a competitive athlete inside until I started running marathons in 1977. 15 marathons later, several under 3 hours including the 100th running of Boston, a running injury sent me into the pool and onto the bike. It's been a journey that has not ended yet. In 1985 I started competing in Triathalons and Duathalons. Coming from a running background the run bike run format fit perfectly. I was a top age group racer throughout the 90's. In 2006 shortly after turning 60 I was still going strong finishing second in my first race as a "senior citizen".
July of 2006 came the first of 2 cancer diagnosis. Prostae cancer Gleason 9. That's when I found CCC. Although not always an active participant I found much encouragement from indivdiduals who had a passion similar to mine. Many of your stories helped me formulate my own approach to dealing with this disease. Most important of which was CCC help me to see I would always be an athlete. Then in August 2008 a second cancer Lymphoma. Again CCC was there! Thanks to CCC and all it's members I'm not just a cancer surviver who is an athlete, but an athlete who happens to have cancer. Cancer will not define who I am or what I hope to be. Livestrong!

I have been married to same beautiful lady for 40 years. We have two grown children, a son and a daughter, and 4 grandchildren(maybe the best part of being a parent) I have owned my own business since 1969.
Currently riding about 125-150 a week. Thanks to CCC I discovered the Moab century which a friend and I rode in September 2009
