I am a three time cancer survivor who is also totally blind. I have not allowed cancer or my blindness to cheat me of a rewarding life. At this point I have achieved many academic and athletic accomplishments. I have two B.A.'s from the University of Notre Dame, and two M.A.'s from Western Michigan University. I have balanced out the academics with numerous athletic endeavors and accomplishments. I competed in the Paralympics in tandem cycling in 2000. I've also been crowned as the Women's alpine skiing champion for blind skiers. Other hobbies include: cycling, roller skating, alpine and nordic skiing, swimming

General Cancer Type: Retinoblastoma, Rhabdomyosarcoma, Breast
Specific Cancer Type: Retinoblastoma, Rhabdomyosarcoma, Malignant Phylloides Sarcoma
Treatment Summary:
Radiation and bilateral ennucleation of both eyes, 10 hours of reconstructive surgery removing one muscle and a piece of bone from my jaw followed by 14 months of chemotherapy, mastectomy. These correlate to the order of the cancer types listed above.
