I am a 69 year young (10/13/1939) Retired Metallugical engineer/Mine Manager. I have been married to a wonderful, if occasionally stubborn Danish girl, Allis for 40 years. We have two grown boys Mike 39 and Chris 36. Chris got married to Stephanie Rissi last July . Since I retired at age 56. I have traveled, Taken up scuba diving and am now a Scuba professional though I'm not getting rich at it. I sailed from Ft Lauderdale Florida to Trinidad and Tobago with one buddy. I hunt,fish, golf and dive for food or money. And since January of 2006 I bike ride, mostly for the LAF. I've mined and lived in Minnesota, Michigan, Arizona ,New Mexico and California while living in Nevada. Had I mined in Nevada and not California I might have worked a few years longer.
I grew up in Minnesota
I lived in Minnesota before the use of wind chill which is a good thing or a lot of people would not have gotten their morning paper. 40 below was cold enough without wind chill. It was actually the mosquitoes wihich induced me to leave.

July to Sept 2005 Linear Radiation 37 sessions
Oct to March 2008 HRT with Zolodex implant Casodex tabs and Megestrol Acetate.
January and march 2008 bone and CT scan show metastasis to Ilium, sacrum, R. Scapula and 3 lower r Ribs, also soft nodules in lungs.
Started Clinical trial with Docetax, prednizone and AT-101/ placebo 4/12/08. PSA which peaked at 40 from <0.1 Jan to Mar/08 is now 12.2. Bone scan show stbility with no further uptake and soft tissue nodules have been eliminated. !2 of 17 sessions completed. I am now also on Lupron and Zometa. I am still riding though the fatigue hit me for about a week after the infusion.
All in all live is good. I plan on doing
RAGBRAI again in 09 , a LS Challenge and Maybe a SF to washington DC if I can find cross county support. I am hoping a family scheduling conflict will allow me to do the Moab skinny Tire festeval for the 3rd year and AMBBR at Lake Tahoe
